A Sudden Shift in Tempo

The first resistance. I break at the first resistance and that has had such an impact on my life. I have never been able to move past that first bit of wind in my face. I want to go through untouched and unseen. But the problem is that I don't know the value of what I do without going through that resistance. The struggle is what gives us meaning. Finishing something easy provides little if no reward. You cannot have character without having the experience of shaping and creating it. We are not born fully developed, physically or emotionally or spiritually.

Life seems to be a constant struggle. At every turn. Big or small, struggling to eat or struggling to decide which freeway to take, it is a constant struggle and, more often than not, a gamble. There is little you can count on. But you can count on yourself. It's the one (and only) thing you're in complete control of. You control your actions and your reactions. And you must be strong in your decisions. Believing in yourself is the primary necessity. There will be mistakes, but you will always be there for yourself and the more often you rely on yourself, the greater your confidence will be in your own actions and decisions and in turn the better those actions and decisions will be.

We turn away from resistance because we feel that it somehow signifies that we have made the wrong choice and that we have failed. Instead we (I) should realize that resistance is what makes us stronger and that giving in to it will keep us weak.
