I can't get enough of Limbeck lately. Alt-country in general is very much my jam. It started back with Train's debut, and then I got into Ryan Adams, and then stuff like My Morning Jacket and others. The beauty of it is how I'm able to embrace my Southern roots without having to drive a truck, line dance, or wear a Stetson.
I have driven across the country 4 times. Thrice from East to West, and once from West to East. I wish there were a way to do it once a year. Once I get a hybrid car and the price of gas comes down maybe I'll be able to afford it again. It would be rad to get a list of the national historical monuments and forests and start checking them off. I'm not sure if I'd want to stay in motels, with family & friends, or do it Rocinante-style like Steinbeck in "Travels With Charley."
I got a phone call the other day from one of my best friends from college, Jeff, to tell me that he's going to be an official DJ on Y100 in Philadelphia. It's a big station and I just about crapped my pants. I'm so happy for him and it completely made my day. When good things happen to good friends, Hope gets a second chance.
I'm thinking about having an analog month in which I listen only to records, read only print, write only with my hands, and ditch TV. Of course I have to use some digital things for work, but perhaps in the after hours...
I want to start a book club. That would be really rad. Shave off the social "necessities" and actually meet up with people to discuss thoughts and ideas.
It looks as though I may lose what little pragmatism I have. I'll never get a Black Card at this rate.
