I saw "21 Grams" with my father tonight. It was one of the better films I've seen in a while. Completely actor and script driven. It made me want to make a movie. Or at least write one.
While I research career jobs and grad schools I will be working at Starbucks. I start tomorrow. I'll be making significantly less money than my last job, but I'll be in a social environment with good music and people of my own generation (which is more important right now).
As I'm researching grad schools and doing what I must to apply, it's odd to think that it won't happen until the Fall of 2005. Life will be much different by then. But I definitely know that my approach to learning has never been more vehement. My hunger for knowledge has become insatiable.
I have played far too much Tony Hawk Underground lately. I see video game skateboarding when I close my eyes at night.
So here are the seven books I'm currently reading:
- Race Matters by Cornel West
- Wicked by Gregory Maguire
- Understanding Power: The Indispensable Chomsky by Noam Chomsky
- A Sand County Almanac by Aldo Leopold
- The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
- AMPHIGOREY by Edward Gorey
- Walden by Henry David Thoreau (still...)
I'm stoked on these albums lately:
- Refused, The Shape of Punk to Come: A Chimerical Bombation in 12 Bursts
- Alkaline Trio, Good Mourning
- ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Source Tags and Codes
- The Cure, Greatest Hits
- A Perfect Circle, Thirteenth Step
- The Darkness, Permission to Land
