I'm sleepy and have one story to tell. I went to Starbucks to read some more of The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut, and per usual I got to people watch. There was this girl sitting near me who was reading both Hamlet and another book that I couldn't read the title of. She was wearing powder blue, hawaiian print sandals, but they were on the floor while she sat on her left leg that was crossed and her right leg was bent in front of her. While she read she would transition between playing with the skin on the top of her right foot and tapping the inside of her left foot. After a while, her cell phone rang and she answered it after one ring. But she could not hear her friend on the other end. She kept saying "Tara? Tara? Are you there?" then she'd look at the phone before repeating that phrase again. When she was on the brink of giving up and hanging up the phone, she looked up and saw Tara standing right in front of her. They both started laughing, and then Tara came over and met this girl with a giggling embrace.
That was about all I noticed in my 30 minutes or so at the coffee shop. The only other things I noticed when I wasn't deep into the chapters of my book were a guy passed out in the corner, complete with mouth open and leaning to one side (somehow he disappeared because the next time I looked over he was gone), and a girl whose cell phone played Take Me Out To The Ballgame when it rang.
